hot out of the kiln - new ceramics
What do you think of this little gingko leaf bird bowl in porcelain - sweet as a Christmas stocking stuffer gift or a sweet place to keep your rings safe by your bed or sink? I used a real gingko leaf for this one - I just love the shape of them. I gathered a few leaves earlier in the year from a friend's tree to use for this piece. Good job I did because the next time I visited him, they had all fallen off because they are deciduous!
And some new porcelain wall art - titled "Let's Fly Together" I always miss the swallows when they fly south for winter. It must be wonderful to migrate each year. Such tiny birds and they go such a long way! Ours go to Africa I believe. Good idea - it is freezing here now! I added the subtle texture of feathers to the surface of the smooth porcelain, and really like the effect. Because of the way these hang, they create a slight shadow on the wall too. I like the flexibility of artwork that can be arranged to suit a space.

New Christmas decorations!
Being sick gave me some serious time to think. I thought and thought and thought. In the blur of it all, I was still designing, still plotting, still inspired. I think that is why I am still sane now! Although there are some that might disagree with that diagnosis ;) Here are some of the ideas for Christmas decorations that blossomed in the midst of the chaos. I hope you'll like them.
Back in the summer, a couple of awesome friends took me away on a mystery trip. I had no idea where we were going, but they took me camping in Anglesey in Wales. Well, glamping in fact. We stayed in a fabulous place that had yurts and teepees in a super pretty location, with comfy beds and all equipment there. The perfect hideaway and so much fun. I will definitely go back. So I made these fun little teepee decorations, or Christmas Treepees as I like to call them, because I thought snowy teepees hidden among the branches of your Christmas tree would be super fun!
To turn Christmas trees into pear trees with partridges has never been simpler ;) My partridge in a pear tree.

Free Christmas Decorations!
Tuesday, 5 November 2013
I just love Pinterest. I could lose days over there, looking at beautiful things, drooling over delicious recipes and imagining fantastic places. I love to pin things for Christmas gift ideas and Christmas decor ideas too so that I am not overwhelmed by the task in hand once the festive season draws near.

Time flies
Time certainly does fly.
And I have been away soooo long from my blog! Well people, I really do have a good reason. Unfortunately, earlier this year I got some pretty devastating health news, and was pretty much out of the game for a while there. Luckily, and thankfully, I appear to be making good progress now, and am looking forward to getting through the rest of this year, and hopefully having a much better 2014!
So during my enforced studio break, I worked a little at home on some new ideas and new designs. I recently learned to cut these ideas using a laser cutter, so the first of my new range is now in my shop. Here's a new one that I hope you will like, appropriately enough, my "Time Flies" clock, made from laser cut acrylic.
What do you think of my new material? A clock was one of the first functional objects I ever made, so it has been fun to revisit that idea.
I have also made a version of these as Christmas tree decorations, and plant markers so I hope you'll like those too!

It has been a super long winter here!
Most of us Brits are still awaiting summer, with one of the coldest springs in history, and not much sign of the sun as yet!
So in the absence of any sunshine, here are some new pieces that I have recently designed, all of which you can find in my online shop.
It has been super fun to display some new work - more coming soon!
